Summer has flown by and we are busy making our preparations for our school year to begin September 5th. Shepherd Christian School started today, as did our before and after care program. We are excited to get our school year started. We are going through some changes here at LLCC so please read through this email to be sure you are aware of any changes that may be coming with your child's classroom.
1. Staffing: We are sad to see Susan Whitaker leave us here at LLCC but are very excited for her new opportunity to teach Kindergarten at Shepherd Christian.
We are also very sad to see Nicole Waite leave us as our Infant 2 lead teacher, she will be replaced by Cathy Wilson. Cathy will spend next week working side by side with Nicole to make a smooth transition for our babies.
Mikayla Bernardin will also be leaving us full time but will remain on our staff as a sub. Nicole and Mikayla have been an amazing asset to our infant 2 program and both will be greatly missed. We are excited for what God has for them with the new opportunities He has provided for them.
We have hired two new staff as well to assist with our Toddler 2 & 3 Classrooms. Stay tuned for more information about these great ladies soon.
2. Lice: We have had several cases reported over the past couple of weeks. As a staff, we have taken the necessary steps to wash and clean all fabric items in our classrooms and have treated the carpets in the classrooms as well. Please keep a close eye on your child's hair.
3. Fall Parent Meeting: Monday August 28 @ 6:30. We ask that this meeting be an adult only meeting. We will cruise through our information and allow you time to visit your child's classroom and meet our staff.
Please feel free to call us at the LLCC office if you have any questions or concerns.
June is here and we are ready to jump into our summer camp program. The staff have spent the past couple of days prepareing and organzing their classrooms for summer. We are excited to get started.
We have hired some additional staff or othe summer months. You will be able to see photos of our staff posted outside the LLCC office with a brief description about them and their role for the summer.
We will also have our class lists posted where the parent sign in binder used to be. This will allow you to double check your child's placement for the summer.
We are looking forward to the opportunity to serve you and your children this summer. Please feel free to contact the Little Lambs office with any questions you may have at 614-471-9269.
It seems as if at the end of each month I think to myself. "Holy Cow, this month is over!" Time is flying by here and before we know it we will be in full swing of our Summer Program.
Our NEW door system has been install and your door codes have been issued. If you have not stopped by to pick up your codes, please do so soon. All you have to do is enter your five digit code, followed by the pound sign (#) and the door will open. Gone are the days of waiting to be buzzed in! We are super excited about this and know that you will love it too.
Our classroom renovation project is coming along as this week, we had the electrician in to place the electical outlets where we need them. We will have that inspected then our wonderful Handy Andy will be busy busy busy, finishing up the remodel for the final inspection. We anticipate having these room finished in a few weeks and open for more kiddos June 5th. We are very excited to expand our program.
Five more weeks until our Summer Camp kicks off. There are limited spots still available for our K-6th grade summer program. We are looking forward to an action packed summer.
This week the children learned about Jesus going to Heaven to prepare a place for His chidlren. This week’s chapel was taught by our Toddler 2 teacher Ms. Cathrine. It is always a great time to hear the children share what they have learned about the Bible in our weekly chapel service.
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Now that the weather seems to be staying warm we ask that you remember to put sunscreen on your children in the morning. In order for us to apply sunscreen you must fill out a form in the LLCC office and provide a bottle of sunscreen for us to keep on sight. We are NOT able to use Aerosol spray sunscreens. Please bring lotion.
Also, please send your child in tennis shoes. Wearing sandals causes a mulch issue on the playground. They spend most of their playground time picking mulch out of their sandals. Wearing closed toed shoes also provides extra safety to their feet while playing.
LLCC is currently looking for part-time employees to serve as substitutes as needed. Anyone interested should contact the Director, Stacey Barrett for more information.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It looks like many of you enjoyed the Mega Easter Egg Hunt here at Shepherd Church. The weather was absolutely beautiful for such a fun family event. This week is a short week as our campus will be closed Friday April 14 as we celebrate Good Friday.
We will be sharing the Easter story with the children this week in chapel. The story will be told using resurrection eggs. These eggs each have one piece of the story inside of them. As we open them one by one, we will share the wonderful Good News of our Saviors Resurrection. It is by far my favorite story to teach.
Luke 24:6-7 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”
Just a few important things before we kick off our weekend.

John 12:32 "And I , if I be lifted up form the earth, will draw all men unto me."
I don't know about you, but that gets me very excited for the day we are all called unto HIm in heaven.
Have a wonderful evening,
Susan and I had a great time the past two evenings at the Pickerington and Westerville Summer Camp Fairs. It was great to see a few of you there. We are excited about our summer plans and hope that you are planning to join us. Our Kindergarten - 6th graders enjoy a weekly event here at LLCC. Such as, PT Reptiles, Ice Sculpture, MadCap Puppets and more. They also go on a weekly field trip to places such as, Get Air, The Wilds, Wildwood Park and bowling. This year we will take our 2-6th grade group to the Dayton Air Force Museum and The Cincinnati Zoo.
Call or stop by the LLCC office today to get your registration paperwork.
We have been busy here, rearranging classrooms and preparing to add classes to our program. We are very excited about all the God is blessing us with and look forward to being able to grow our LLCC family soon.
We added a new staff member this week.. Susan Whitaker will be working with Cathrine Bernardin in Toddler 2. Susan is going to make a great addition to our team.
Ms. Erin & Ms. Sharon have relocated their classroom and that is preparing for construction to begin on their old classrooms. We will be adding an outside door and sink to each of those classrooms. This will involve some plumbing work in front of the building. The plumbing work should only effect those of our staff members who park in the parking spot directly in front of the building. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this journey.
It is hard to believe that March is one one day away. That means you all should have received RSVP forms for the week of Shepherd Christians Spring Break (March 20-24) Please be sure to submit those acknowledging whether or not your child be in attendance.

Also, just to get you to start thinking about the days. LLCC is going to begin incorporating several maintance/ up keep days to our school calendar. It is my hope that these days falling on transition days will be low ratio days that wil not inconveince too many of our families. And that having plenty of prior notice will help ease this change in our calendar.

August 31- September 1 - Cleaning and rearranging before we begin our school year

Have a great evening,
We have had a quiet week here at Little Lambs. Shepherd Christian School is off on Christmas Break and our numbers are lower due to children spending time with their families. We were able to spend more time doing extra fun activities with the children.
Please take time to review our sickness policy. There are colds and flu bugs traveling around and we want to do all that we can to keep our children and staff healthy.
We will continue our Daycare Only days through January 3. We will resume our regular weekly schedules beginning January 4th.
Please remember that we are closed December 23 & 26, spending time with our families.
And we will be closed January 2 as we bring in a new year.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!
16 days til Christmas!
We are quickly approaching the end of 2016. I can't help but sit back and wonder where has all the time gone. However, with a knock at the door I am quickly reminded that we are always hoping here at Little Lambs. I am excited about 2017 and the plans we have for Little Lambs, but we want to finish the year strong. Here are some important pieces of information you will want to make note of...
December 11, 2016 Preschool & PreK will perform their hand bell selections at Shepherd Church during the 9:30am service. Please plan to arrive between 9am and 9:15, dropping your child off in the Fellowship Hall. Susan and I will be there to help get your child lined up and ready to go.
December 15, 2016 The SCS/LLCC Parent Teacher Organization will host a family night at Moe's Southwestern Grill. A portion of the proceeds from this night will go back into the PTO accounts. The PTO uses these funds to purchase items for recess, books for classrooms and fund fun events for the students.
December 19 -30 Daycare Only Days. Please remember that you MUST turn in your RSVP form in order for your child to be garenteed care during these two weeks. We base our staffing needs on those RSVP forms. If your child is a part time Preschool child, there will be no classes during those dates. If you have questions regarding the Christmas Daycare Only days please contact the LLCC office.
Be sure to read your child's class newsletter for information regarding their class Christmas parties.
As the temperatures continue to drop, please make sure that your child is dressed warmly and that PreK students have coats, hats and gloves as they travel back and forth between buildings.
Parents of Infants through Preschool age children, please check backpacks and replace the extra set of clothing to a warmer set.
Have a wonderful weekend! See you next week.
